Breast Reconstruction
Breast Reconstruction surgery provides new breasts to women who lost it due to cancer, other diseases or accidents. The goal of Breast Reconstruction is to restore women's self-esteem and the aesthetic appearance of breasts, without restoring the breastfeeding capability.
However, it is important to remind that results obtained will look as similar as possible with natural breasts, but will not look the same. Reconstructed breasts will not also have the same sensibility of natural breasts and they might present visible scars. Most of women who has gone through this surgery tell that the positive aspects of the procedure overcome the negatives.
Breast Reconstruction surgery can be performed right after Mastectomy, the procedure of removal of the breast, or even after full recovery of the patient.
Surgery will be performed in a hospital, under general anesthesia.
